Error during uninstallation of product

Issue

While uninstalling a 2010 product, you received the following error:

After dismissing the error dialog, the uninstall process halts and rolls back.  Re-installing or repairing the existing installation does not correct the problem and you are unable to uninstall the product.

Solution

The message "adlmPITRemoveProductInformation failed" may indicate a corruption in the ProductInformation.pit file.  The workaround is to manually remove this file and then run the uninstallation process again.

The ProductInformation.pit file can be found on the workstation in the following locations:

Windows XP:
C:\Documents and settings\All Users\Application Data\Autodesk\ADLM\ProductInformation.pit

Windows Vista:
C:\ProgramData\Autodesk\ADLM\ProductInformation.pit

Important Notes:

  1. Manually deleting the ProductInformation.pit file will make many other Autodesk products unusable until they are uninstalled/reinstalled. Only delete this file if all other options have failed.
