Problem description:

Creation of an AIS/AIP 2010 deployment including the ACADM product might fail when there is a lot of disk I/O activity . In the log file you will find the error “ACM CreateGPOMsi failed!”.

Explanation:

When creating ACADM deployments some file pointers are being left open to the ACADM Infotainment images.
This results in memory leaks in the install framework when displaying Infotainment images which leads to an install failure..
The workaround documented in the next section is to remove the Infotainment images in the temporary install folder.

Workaround:

  • Launch the setup.exe of the install wizard
  • When you reach the Install Products/Create Deployments page, go to the system temp folder by typing “%temp%” in the explorer address bar and hitting Enter. You should find a .tmp folder corresponding to the setup.exe being launched. This folder contains a local copy of the Inventor installer files.
  • Open the “_AI2F.tmp” folder. You will find the same install files that you can find on the DVDs.
  • Open the “en-us\SetupRes\Infotainment\Acadm\” folder under the “_AI2F.tmp” folder. You should see five .html files of which you need to remove any four of these html files from the hard disk.
