Clean uninstall of Inventor 2010

There are occasions when you may experience problems installing Autodesk® Inventor™ after failed installs or uninstalls of other Autodesk products. In these cases, it is recommended that you completely remove them from the system and then attempt the new installation on the cleaned system.

To automatically uninstall Autodesk Inventor, download and use the tool mentioned in TS14893355.

To manually uninstall Autodesk Inventor, and remove any remnants of this product from the system, use the following procedure. The end result is a clean system on which you can install. (Note: If you have Vault installed, you will need to perform a change/repair to fix the integration.)

1. Log on as a Local System Administrator and disable any virus scanning programs.
2. In Windows Control Panel, double-click Add or Remove Programs and then remove Autodesk Inventor 2010.
3. Using Windows Explorer, locate and then delete the following file folders, as appropriate:
   
   For Microsoft Vista 32-bit installations:
   • C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Inventor 2010
   • C:\Users\Public\Public Documents\Autodesk\Inventor 2010
   • C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\Autodesk\Inventor 2010
   • C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\AutoCAD Mechanical 2010
   For Microsoft Vista 64-bit installations:
   • C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Inventor 2010
   • C:\Users\Public\Public Documents\Autodesk\Inventor 2010
   • C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Local\Autodesk\Inventor 2010
   • C:\Users\%username%\AppData\Roaming\Autodesk\AutoCAD Mechanical 2010
   For Microsoft XP 32-bit installations:
   • C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Inventor 2010
   • C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\Application Data\Autodesk\Inventor 2010
   • C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\Local Settings\Application Data\Autodesk\Inventor 2010
   • C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Autodesk\Inventor 2010
   For Microsoft XP 64-bit installations:
   • C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Inventor 2010
   • C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\Application Data\Autodesk\Inventor 2010
   • C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\Local Settings\Application Data\Autodesk\Inventor 2010
   • C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Autodesk\Inventor 2010
4. Open the system registry and locate and then delete the following registry keys, as appropriate (Start menu (Windows) > Run > RegEdit).
   
   For 32-bit versions of Vista and XP
   • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Autodesk\Inventor\RegistryVersion14.x
   • HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Autodesk\ Inventor\RegistryVersion14.x
   For 64-bit versions of Vista and XP
   • HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Autodesk\ Inventor\RegistryVersion14.x
   • HKEY_ CURRENT_USER\Software\Wow6432Node\Autodesk\Inventor\RegistryVersion14.x
   • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software \Autodesk\Inventor\RegistryVersion14.x
   • HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Wow6432Node\Autodesk\Inventor\RegistryVersion14.x
