QTVR rendering error: Error during file save. Check that QT is not open.

Issue

When you rendered a QTVR, you received the following error message:

Error during file save. Check that QT is not open.

Solution

This error may be related to an issue with the Stitcher preferences. To resolve this error, try deleting the preferences:

  • On Microsoft Windows, refer to solution TS1095507.
  • On Apple Mac OS X, refer to solution TS1095508.

If deleting the preferences does not resolve the error, use the following suggestions to troubleshoot the error:

  • The same QTVR panorama is currently open. Close it.
  • The Preview QuickTime is active (the mouse is on the file.mov file).
  • The codec used by default in the Render dialog box is not installed. Try changing the codec or re-installing QTVR from the Apple website in order to obtain the latest codecs.
  • Your disk is too fragmented. Try defragmenting it.
  • There are non-standard or special characters in the file path of the project file. Make sure that there are none of the project folders have special control characters (for example, &, #, *, %, !, “, /, <, >, or |) Also, avoid using accented letters or spaces.
  • Avoid file names with more than 20 characters.
  • Reduce the resolution of the panorama in pixels before rendering, as there may be insufficient memory to render the original image.
  • Restart the computer and then start only Stitcher before rendering.
  • Set the Memory Cache for the input images to 0% in the Preferences-Memory dialog box before rendering.
  • You are working with a duplicated Stitcher project. Try working with the original project instead.
