| Network licensing error [1.5.-5] when starting the softwareIssueWhen you tried to start AutoCAD®-based software from a client workstation, the following error message was displayed: The network license manager was not able to get a valid license. If this problem continues, please contact your system administrator. Error [1.5.-5]
SolutionThis error indicates that the correct feature code does not exist in your license file to support the program you are trying to run. Common causes of this problem are listed below: - Each software program looks for a unique feature code in the license file that it can use. You should make sure that the license file contains the expected product feature code for your software. Refer to the following solution for more information: FLEXlm® feature codes for Autodesk products.
- Autodesk license files must be combined into a single license file on the license manager to support licensing for multiple products. Refer to the following solution for more information: Combining Autodesk® license files.
- If you have multiple license managers, you should make sure that the software is looking to the correct license manager containing the right licenses. To change which server the software looks to for a license, set the ADSKFLEX_LICENSE_FILE variable. Refer to the following solution for more information: Specifying license servers using the ADSKFLEX_LICENSE_FILE environment variable.
- Suite products such as AutoCAD Revit Architecture or AutoCAD Revit Structure require a valid PLIST increment in the license file. You should make sure that the PLIST from the most recent license file exists in your working license file and that the Server Status in LMTOOLS shows the PLIST available without errors. Refer to the following solution for more information: Cannot start network license from Revit® Suite or Series products.
