Transportation accounts for 13% of greenhouse gas emissions globally, with the majority coming from the world’s 600 million automobiles. As the number of new vehicles continues to grow, particularly in rapidly developing economies, sustainable mobility is becoming a pressing issue for both our planet and our society. The student teams designing cars to compete in the Shell Eco-marathon are tackling this problem head-on.
As a proud sponsor of Shell Eco-marathon worldwide and the 2011 Eco-Design Award, Autodesk is committed to providing students and faculty participating on teams with free tools and resources to help students design and engineer with less environmental impact:
About Shell Eco-marathonThe Shell Eco-marathon challenges high school and college student teams from around the world to design, build and test energy efficient vehicles. With annual events in the Americas, Europe and Asia, the winners are the teams that go the farthest distance using the least amount of energy.
