Student Center

Autodesk FLUX Design Competition

Winner Announced!

Congratulations to Anthony Ip for his winning entry “Carton Kit House”

Launched in partnership with the 2011 Australian and New Zealand Student Congress: FLUX, the competition brief was to design a two bedroom, light weight, quick to construct and deconstruct temporary ‘home’ that could be replicated, and which has minimal environmental impact over the building’s life-cycle -an Emergency Kit home

It was Anthony’s innovative use of shipping containers and skillful application of Autodesk Architecture, Analysis and Rending software that impressed the judges.

My solution to the ‘Emergency Kit’ house is to make use of used shipping containers and create a “template” room, which is pre-fabricated and can be used over and over again as a sustainable temporary house for people in need. This “template” room can also be combined to create larger houses and even different typologies of housing including common rooms, temporary medical centre, indoor playground etc.”
