1. Prepare Your System
Preparing your system before installing an Autodesk product is an essential step to a smooth and trouble-free installation. To prepare your system:
- Check that your computer meets the minimum System Requirements
- Be sure you have Administrator permissions on your computer
- Install all system updates, restart your computer and exit all open applications
- Download software or insert the physical media for your Autodesk product
- Review the product documentation and Readme file

2. Configure and Install
When you are ready to begin the installation process you will need to enter several pieces of information. Configuring your installation consists of the following tasks:
- Select your install type (installation to a single computer or deployment to multiple computers)
- Accept the Autodesk Software License Agreement
- Specify your license type (Stand Alone, Multi-seat Stand Alone or Network)
- Enter your serial number and product key
- Select the products you would like to install

3. Activate and Register
Activation and registration are important steps of licensing Autodesk software. The process protects both your rights as a consumer and our rights as a software developer by preventing unauthorized use of your product by another person and by verifying that you have installed genuine Autodesk software.
