Design for (Your) Product Lifetime Student Challenge
Brought to you by Core77 and sponsored by Autodesk and iFixit, this challenge asks students to develop a compelling new "smart" product that is repairable and designed to last. Three winners will receive up to US$2,500 in prizes. Rethink the design of average household appliances, electronics, lighting, toys—any and all kinds of products that are ripe for a lower-impact redesign Enter by November 15, 2012, and you could be a winner.

Educational Innovation of Motorsports & Automotive Race 2012
Educational Innovation of Motorsports & Automotive Race 2012 (EIMARace 2012) is a competition that promotes education through motorsport. In this competition, students are required to plan, design, and build a prototype race car (kart) using Autodesk software. The karts will undergo an extensive testing in theoretical and physical tasks, such as an Acceleration Test, Maneuver Test, and Endurance Race.

Archi-World® Academy
Are you an architecture or urban design student looking for an internship at a prestigious firm? Then, don't miss Archi-World® Academy, an international architecture competition focusing on energy-saving solutions. Entrants compete for a paid internship at 12 well-known firms. Autodesk FLUX Design Competition
In responding to this year’s Australia Congress theme, “Architecture in Crisis,” Autodesk in collaboration with the FLUX Creative Directors, the Emerging Architects Australia, and the Australian Institute of Architects has launched a hypothetical design competition titled “Emergency Kit.” The challenge is to design a 2-bedroom lightweight, quick to construct and deconstruct, temporary “home” that could be replicated for the site, and which has minimal environmental impact over the building’s lifecycle—an Emergency Kit home.

FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC)
“The varsity sport for the mind,” FIRST Robotics Competition combines the excitement of sports with the rigors of engineering, science, and technology. FRC challenges high-school students to collaborate and build a working robot in just 6 weeks. In 2011 over 2,000 teams are being challenged to design, build, and program robots to compete in this year’s game, “LOGOMOTION.” For the 19th consecutive year, Autodesk is a sponsor of the program and will contribute software, mentor resources, and for the first time, fund grants to U.S. teams. Autodesk is also an Official Sponsor of the 2011 FIRST Championship and an Official Supplier to FRC.

Formula SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers)
The Formula SAE annual competition challenges SAE student members to conceive, design, and fabricate small Formula-style racing cars. Members work in teams to build the cars over a period of about 1 year. At the competition, their cars are compared to other vehicles created by college and university students from around the world. Autodesk’s partnership with Formula SAE includes supplying software, training, and resource materials, as well as supporting programs and events.

Formula Student
Formula Student is a global competition open to university students, and features a series of competitive events that take place in Europe. Working in teams, students are challenged to design, build, and promote their small, single seat racing cars. Autodesk partners with Formula Student in the UK and in Germany to provide software, training, and resource materials to competing teams, and to support the challenge events.

I-BIM Student Design Competition
The competition is to challenge students to create architectural and structural designs of a Campus Wellness Center in a major urban center in India. Using Autodesk’s BIM portfolio of products, specifically Autodesk® Revit® Architecture and Autodesk® Revit® Structure software, 3-student teams from all over India are invited to submit innovative and sustainable designs before jury of professionals, first at the regional and then at the national level.

Shell Eco-Marathon (SEM)
Shell Eco-Marathon is a “sustainable mobility challenge,” in which teams of students design, build, and race vehicles engineered to go the longest distance on the least amount of fuel/power. SEM began as a community outreach event in France but has grown over the past 3 years to include teams from around the world participating in events in the Americas, Europe, and Asia. Autodesk partners with SEM worldwide to provide students with software, resource materials focused on sustainability and digital prototyping, technical assistance, and event support, including on-site technical resources and learning opportunities.

Toy Design Competition 2011
This exciting competition provides a platform for students to challenge their creativity and skills in designing fascinating animated mechanical toy sculptures, called Automata, using Autodesk® Inventor® software. Automata are originated from the Cabaret Mechanical Theatre (CMT), a highly acclaimed travelling exhibition that began in the U.K. and combines the work of arts, science, and technology. These mechanical toy sculptures showcase the fine art of engineering and are valued highly by collectors. They can be brought to life by cranking a handle to move a shaft mounted with a series of machine parts such as cams, gears, linkages, belts, pulleys, and ratchets, which are in turn connected to the various parts of the sculptures to produce the desired movement.

VEX Robotics
VEX Robotics is a classroom product as well as a global competition program that engages students from middle school to college in robotics, both as a classroom platform for STEM (science, technology, engineering, and math) and as an experiential way to learn engineering and design principles. Autodesk has collaborated with VEX to develop a modular curriculum that incorporates Autodesk Inventor software in the classroom. Additionally, Autodesk sponsors multiple aspects of the 200+ VEX competitions including branding, marketing, and on-site support for teams. VEX also has a program of online challenges open to students at all levels of education.

WorldSkills International (WSI)
WorldSkills International promotes vocational and technical education and training, and challenges students and their teachers, trainers, and employers to achieve world-class competencies and standards. Autodesk is a Global Partner to WorldSkills International and contributes significantly to both WSI and regional skills organizations and events, including WorldSkills Americas, WorldSkills Europe, and SkillsUSA. Resources provided by Autodesk include software, welcome kits, technical resources, and prizes for medal winners.
