Essential Skills Movies
If you are new to Softimage, watching the Essential Skills movies is a great place to start. Each movie provides an introduction to the Softimage concepts you need to know before trying more complex projects. These movies launch the first time you start Autodesk Softimage, but you can refer to them again from the Help menu.
The Softimage User’s Guide
The Autodesk Softimage user’s guide provides complete procedural and reference information on using various aspects of the Softimage software. You can access this guide by choosing Help > User’s Guide from the main menu in Softimage. Access help about interface elements, commands, and parameters by clicking the “?” button in any property editor or view that displays the help symbol.
The Softimage SDK Guide
The Autodesk Softimage SDK guide provides a complete library of developer and reference information on mastering the Softimage SDK toolset. You can access this guide by choosing Help > SDK Guide from the main menu in Softimage. Help on all scripting commands, objects, methods, and properties is available from within the script editor. Open the script editor and choose Help > Scripting Reference or press F1 while working in the editing pane.
Softimage User’s Guide and SDK Guide
The Softimage User’s Guide and the Softimage SDK Guide are the primary sources of learning for Autodesk Softimage. These guides are installed with the Softimage software in Compiled HTML Help format (*.chm), but they are also available in an alternate web-based help format for your viewing convenience.
