Water and Electricity Do Mix – A Summary of the Water Energy Connection in Northern California
Energy efficiency and climate change are two of the latest items to be linked to water, with growing attention being paid to the connection between water use and energy consumption. This article summarizes a PG&E funded research study that investigated the energy intensity of non-agricultural water consumption in Northern California. The study provides data on specific and average water energy use intensity (EUI) and quantifies the energy related benefits of water efficiency in green buildings and projects.
