Autodesk® Seek is more than just a search tool; it’s an ecosystem connecting designers with building product manufacturers (BPMs) and publishers. Autodesk Seek makes detailed building product data, including product sheets, specifications, and data-rich CAD files in a variety of formats, easy to find and download by a large audience of potential building product buyers and/or specifiers.
Autodesk Seek employs powerful parametric search technology that allows architects and engineers to discover products based on key characteristics or attributes, eliminating the need to consult static catalogs or conduct tedious web searches.
The browse capability on Autodesk Seek allows designers to search for content using architecture, engineering, and construction industry-standard classifications, including MasterFormat 2004, Omniclass 1.0, and Uniformat II.
View additional details about the product or component and download the file directly into designs using Autodesk® i-drop® XML-based technology.
Autodesk is indexing and categorizing rich product data from several external sources, including aggregators like McGraw-Hill Construction Sweets Network®, Reed Construction Data®, Architectural Data Systems™ (ADS), and BIMWorld™. Users can also find products in the content libraries provided with Revit® Architecture, Revit® MEP, Revit® Structure, AutoCAD® Architecture, and AutoCAD® MEP software applications. Content will be constantly updated.
Building product manufacturers and content aggregators can self-publish product data directly with easy-to-use publishing tools. Please contact seek.manufacturers@autodesk.com for more information.
The Seek service allows designers to select and specify design files or product specifications regardless of format. Filter by file type (DWG, RFA, SKP, etc.) or by content type (2D file, 3D file, etc.) either prior to running the search query or after. Filter with an additional set of parameters such as manufacturer, width, and height, on the set of results received.
Autodesk Seek supports everything from Revit product family files and DWG™ files to DGN and SKP files to Microsoft® Word documents, three-part specifications, and PDFs.
