Description
This course is designed to cover important and fundamental concepts of the Geospatial Platform API introduced with the AutoCAD Map 3D 2008.
Audience
This course is designed for developers, distributors, resellers, and experienced users of AutoCAD Map 3D software who are keen to gain an understanding of the Geospatial Platform API with a view to using it for application development.
Prerequisites
Prior experience customizing AutoCAD Map is not important, but familiarity with the Visual Basic .NET or C# programming languages is required. A basic understanding of FDO technology and the "end-user" functionality of AutoCAD Map 3D is necessary. Familiarity with the Autodesk MapGuide Enterprise API, though not a requirement, would be a great advantage.
Objectives
The objective of this course is to provide you an understanding of the Geospatial Platform API so as to enable you develop applications that would take advantage of the powerful FDO-based architecture introduced with the AutoCAD Map 2007 release. After attending this course, you will understand how to develop applications that access and manage data in a wide range of data stores.
The course will cover all major aspects of the Geospatial Platform API, including Resource and Feature services, data creation, queries, filters, layer and style manipulation, geometry and Data Connect.
Training will be presented using C#.
