Third-Party & Open Source FDO Providers

Autodesk® Geospatial Solutions, including AutoCAD® Map 3D, AutoCAD® Civil 3D®, Autodesk MapGuide® Enterprise, Autodesk® Topobase™, and Autodesk® Utility Design software, leverage open source technology, enabling you to extend Feature Data Objects (FDO) Data Access Technology with third-party and open source FDO providers for data stores not currently supported by Autodesk.

A variety of open source FDO providers are available from the Open Source Geospatial Foundation™ (OSGeo™) FDO Project.

Open Source FDO Provider for Microsoft® SQL Server™ 2008
The open source FDO Provider for Microsoft^® SQL Server™ 2008, developed by Autodesk and contributed to the Open Source Geospatial Foundation (OSGeo) allows customers to take advantage of Microsoft SQL Server 2008’s native support for spatial data. The new open source FDO Provider for Microsoft SQL Server 2008 provides direct access (read and write) to spatial data within the Microsoft SQL Server 2008 database

Safe Software FME FDO Provider
The FME FDO Provider integrates with the Data Connect dialog in AutoCAD Map 3D to enable faster and easier connectivity to hundreds of spatial data formats.

SL-King has developed FDO providers for Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, IBM Informix Dynamic Server, and more.
