Chaotic Mixing for Engineered WetlandsJanuary 4-February 26, 2010 Uniting advanced fluid dynamics with environmental engineering, faculty and students investigated how engineered wetlands more efficiently process pollutants through chaotic mixing strategies. The use of Algor Simulation Professional and Maya software enabled sophisticated simulations of wetland fluid flow. Autodesk employees helped researchers navigate innovative workflows and explore new strategies for modeling the complex geometry of natural wetland environments. The team gained a deeper understanding of wetland flow patterns and learned how to help accelerate the treatment of pollutants and improve overall water quality. Design and Engineering Solutions The following products were used in this project: - AutoCAD®
- Autodesk® Maya®
- Autodesk® Algor® Simulation Professional software
Residents Faculty and students from the UC Berkeley Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering. They include: - Evan A. Variano, PhD, assistant professor
