About Autorska Pracownia Konstrukcyjna “WOJDAK”

Autorska Pracownia Konstrukcyjna “WOJDAK” is a Polish structural engineering firm specializing in the custom design of complex steel and reinforced concrete structures. Founded in 1999 by Ryszard Wojdak, notable structural designs of the Gdańsk firm include the new Basilica in Licheń and the roof replacement of the medieval Saint Catherine’s Church in Gdańsk.

Using BIM to Increase Design Efficiency

Autorska Pracownia Konstrukcyjna “WOJDAK” has used Autodesk® RobotTM Structural Analysis software since 2002. In 2006, it was among the first companies in Poland to adopt Autodesk® Revit® Structure software and use a central digital model to integrate its design and analysis processes. The company now uses these Autodesk® BIM solutions, as well as AutoCAD® software, for the design, analysis, and documentation of all its projects.

One of the company’s most recent BIM projects is a new 44,000-seat sports stadium in Gdańsk, Poland, which will host the 2012 European Football Championship. The firm used Revit Structure software to quickly develop its reinforced concrete structural model in just 2 days and then imported the Revit design model into Robot software for structural analysis. The integration of Revit Structure and Robot Structural Analysis allowed the design team to more quickly test many design variations, resulting in a more optimized higher-quality structural design of the stadium.
