Wheelchairs are crucial assistive technology, but traditional, single-speed, manual wheelchair design makes it difficult for even the strongest users to get up and down inclines on their own.

The Magic Wheels team worked to integrate user-centered design and mechanical engineering, testing digital prototypes in tough, real-world conditions. Using Autodesk® Inventor® software, engineers created and tested 250 precision parts that make up this revolutionary wheel system. Magic Wheels integrates mechanical features such as dual gears, brakes, and hill-holding technology into a lightweight wheel drive and hand rim. And that means things have taken a turn for the better for manual wheelchair users all over the world.
