Migration Tools

Designed to make your migration to the latest version of your AutoCAD-based software products easier, migration tools help you to share drawings and take the guesswork out of updating your custom files. This started with the release of AutoCAD 2005, where file structures were enhanced to make migration of custom menus, line and hatch patterns, keyboard accelerators and command aliases easier in the future. In AutoCAD 2006, a new customization user interface was been added to the product that allows you to easily bring your existing menus and toolbars forward from older version of AutoCAD.

For a detailed description of Autodesk’s recommended best practices on how to set-up your customizations for easy migration, download the "Best Practices for AutoCAD Migration" document below. In addition, refer to the topic, “Migrate and Transfer Custom Settings and Files”, in your AutoCAD help.
