Education Community Special Terms

Your use of and access to the Education Community portion of the Site is governed by these Education Community Special Terms (“Special Terms”) and the Terms of Use, which incorporate these Special Terms by reference. When accessing, using or participating in the Education Community, you must comply with all of these terms. If you do not agree to the Terms of Use, you should not use the Education Community.

1.   Additional Eligibility Requirements for the Education Community.  In addition to meeting the eligibility requirements set forth in the Terms of Use for use of the Site, to access and participate in the Education Community, you must be one of the following: (a) a faculty member; (b) a student; or (c) an Autodesk-sponsored design competition mentor or competitor.

  1. A faculty member is an individual person who is an employee or independent contractor working for an educational institution which has been accredited by an authorized governmental agency within its applicable local, state, provincial, federal, or national government and has the primary purpose of teaching its enrolled students.
  2. A student means an individual person enrolled as a student at an educational institution which has been accredited by an authorized governmental agency within its applicable local, state, provincial, federal, or national government and has the primary purpose of teaching its enrolled students.
  3. An Autodesk-sponsored design competition mentor is an individual who provides guidance, advice, coaching, or instruction to competitors engaged in competing in an Autodesk-sponsored design competition, and upon request by Autodesk is able to provide proof of such status. A competitor is a student or other individual who is registered and accepted or otherwise approved by a design competition organizer as a competition participant and who, upon request by Autodesk, is able to provide proof of such status. A list of Autodesk-sponsored competitions can be found on the Autodesk Student Center website (or successor site thereto): http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/pc/index?siteID=123112&id=17359857.

2.   Additional Terms Applicable to Software Obtained Through the Education Community.  Notwithstanding anything to the contrary in the license agreement accompanying any Software downloaded by you from this Site through the Education Community, such Software may be used by competitors and Autodesk sponsored design competition mentors to design, develop, create and submit competition entries in Autodesk-sponsored design competitions. Except as modified by the preceding sentence, the applicable license agreement shall remain in full force and effect according to its terms.

3.   Additional Terms Applicable to Cloud-based Services Obtained Through the Education Community.  Any cloud-based services that are made available by or through the Education Community (“Web Services”) are the proprietary works of Autodesk, its suppliers, and/or its licensors. Use of the Web Services are governed by the terms of service applicable to the Web Services (“Terms of Service”). You may not use any Web Services unless you have agreed to the applicable Terms of Service. The Web Services are made available solely for use by you in accordance with the applicable Terms of Service and the Terms of Use. If the Web Services you gain access to are not accompanied by Terms of Service, the following Terms of Services shall apply: http://usa.autodesk.com/adsk/servlet/item?siteID=123112&id=17784802

Notwithstanding anything to the contrary in the Terms of Service applicable to any Web Services made available to you via the Education Community, such Web Services may be used solely by (i) students and faculty for learning, teaching, training, and research and development, but shall not include commercial, professional or any other for-profit purposes, or (ii) by competitors and Autodesk sponsored design competition mentors to design, develop, create and submit competition entries in Autodesk-sponsored design competitions. Except as modified by the preceding sentence, the applicable Terms of Service shall remain in full force and effect according to their terms.
