MotionBuilder 2010 Feature Videos

Joints in Simulation
MotionBuilder 2010 supports using joints to connect multiple objects together for the purposes of a simulation. Watch this video to see how you can use the joint physical property to create object animation that reacts to other animation in a scene, such as making a character push a door open.

Ragdoll Pose Matching
This video shows how using character poses with the rag doll solve can be useful if you want to create a specific reaction or impression with the character’s collapse, such as landing in a certain position or making a gesture while falling.

Animation Mixing
You have the ability to mix in between existing animation and ragdoll physics. This can be done globally or on individual body parts.

Pose Control Enhancements and New Custom Keying Groups
You can now take poses from an object or group of objects in a scene, not just characters. This video also shows how you can create custom keying groups to facilitate object animation and to enhance your character animation workflow.

MotionBuilder 2009 Feature Video

Autodesk MotionBuilder 2009 New Features Demo
This video will introduce you the integrated Python® editor and real-time rendering of complex lighting via hardware-accelerated shaders. You’ll also learn how the Rag Doll solver can be used to create a realistic simulation of a character falling and hitting the ground, and how to set up a real-time, rigid-body simulation using the 3D objects in a scene.

MotionBuilder 7.5 Extension 2 Feature videos

Looping animation in MotionBuilder
This demonstration walks you through the steps to take an arbitrary animation and create a looping clip.

Working with 3ds Max Biped and MotionBuilder
This is a short demonstration showing how to take a biped character from 3ds Max into MotionBuilder, rig the character, apply animation to the character and bring all of this back into 3ds Max to be applied back onto biped.
